Sidney Clifford Smith
SMITH, Sidney – passed away peacefully at the Welland Hospital on June 21, 2021 at the age of 82, just a few days after his sister Gladys Honey Pearson, while the seasons were changing. He is survived by his wife Shirley, children Terry (Linda), Linda (Keith) Nault and Kevin (Lori), grandchildren Andrew, Matthew (Carole), Bryan (Tenesha), Catharine, Megan, Sarah and Cara and great-grandchildren Caleb, Alex, Lilijana, Rosalee, Macic and Hunter. Predeceased by his infant son Dale, siblings Gladys, Edgar, Edmond, Dorothy, Charlie, Edna, Dolly, Alvin and Donald, his parents Gladys & Alvin Smith, parents-in-laws Thelma & Harper Young and brother-in-law Russell Young. Sid had started work for the City of Welland Police Force and continued for 44 years with the Niagara Region. The family would like to thank the staff at Woodlands of Sunset and the Niagara Regional Police for their care and understanding during the last two years of difficulty. You did a great job. As per Sidney’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private ceremony will be held at a later date.
