Obituary of Aubrey Harvey
Harvey, Aubrey Gordon – 90 of West Gore formerly of Hantsport, passed away peacefully at the QEII Hospital, Halifax on June 7th, 2021. Born on September 25th, 1930 in Rawdon Gold Mines, he was the eldest of 9 children to the late Seymour and Edna (Barron) Harvey.
Aubrey had several jobs over the years but spent a total of 38 years working construction where he would later retire from in 1994. He was a lifetime member of the United Church.
Aubrey and his wife Pauline spent many years enjoying music festivals with their camping buddies. Life slowed down in his latter years, spending more time at home with family and friends stopping in for a chuckle and catching up on the local news. He was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan and enjoyed a game of crib or 45’s.
Aubrey is survived by children Alden, Florence (Troy) Miller and Allison, son-in-law Norman Roulston, daughter-in-law Donna, stepsons Reid (Bonnie), Randy (Liz), Royce (Heather) Sanford, 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, siblings Elsie, Etta, Gary, Keith, Laurie and Faye along with several nieces and nephews.
A special mention to Shirley (Doug) Clarke and Adelle (Cecil) Fletcher.
Besides his parents Aubrey is predeceased by his first wife Maude (Hill), second wife Pauline (Sanford), daughter Elizabeth (Roulston), grandson Anthony Miller, siblings Ernest, Ed, Bobby, Russell, Hughie, Emhert and Cora (Ed).
Donations in memory of Aubrey can be made to the Avon United Church c/o David MacFarlane, Po.box 414 Hantsport, NS B0P 1P0 or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
There will be a graveside committal service held on Saturday June 26th, 2021 in the West Gore Cemetery, Rev. Bill Gibson officiating. As covid-19 regulations change regarding funeral services an update will be provide via our website and the newspaper for this service.
