In Loving Memory of Valerie Hall who passed away at the age of 90 in Kelowna, BC on May 5, 2021. She had 10 brothers and sisters, one of them being her twin brother, Val; both born on Valentine’s Day.
Valerie grew up in the Grimshaw/Peace River district of Alberta. She left home at an early age, and she earned her nursing degree and became a psychiatric nurse at Ponoka, AB. Later, she married and was the camp cook on a gold barge, with her husband Alan, and they lived in Lillooet, BC.
After following her husband to Vancouver, BC, where Alan became a barber for over 20 years, she had two children, Brenda and Roger. They lived in a small house, raised animals, and gardened for food until 1966 when they all moved to Richmond, BC. Alan became a real estate agent and Valerie followed suit as soon as the children were old enough to care for themselves. Roger and Brenda gave them 4 grandchildren, James “Jim”, Jennifer, Michael, and Lindsay, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Valerie was a wonderful, loving, and caring wife and mother, she will be greatly missed.
