RICHARDSON, Audrey – The family and friends of Audrey Richardson (nee Huggins), born December 5th, 1925 in Peterborough, England, are in mourning. Audrey passed away on May 30th, 2021 while being read passages from her beloved Bible. Audrey emigrated to Canada in 1949, and met Thomas Richardson a year later. Audrey and Tom married and had three children – Maggie, Janet, and Joe – and the family never suffered from a lack of desserts (remember her ambrosia?). Audrey’s love of sugar was unwavering, and until recently she enjoyed a KitKat almost daily. The eight grandchildren (Kate, Alison, Luke, Jessica, Sharon, Jane, William, and Timothy) and six great grandchildren (Isaac, Lily, Liam, Charlie, Beatrice, and Reuben) had a special place in grandma’s heart. Audrey will be warmly remembered by her church communities in Midland, Niagara-on-the-lake, and St Catharines; as well as the many people she crossed paths with throughout her ninety-five years. Audrey was a relentless volunteer. She worked with the women’s auxiliary in NOTL’s Legion Branch 124 gathering recipes from the town for the only recipe book for Canada’s Centennial 1967 celebration. Audrey ran the confectionery at the ball park on Friday nights and visited many people in hospital and care homes over the years. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff and volunteers at Linhaven who cared for our beloved mom, grandma, great-grandma, aunt, and friend. Audrey is predeceased by her husband Tom (2004) and her sister Jean (2013). Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel (39 Court Street, St. Catharines) has been entrusted with arrangements. A private family visitation will be held on Friday, June 4 from 1-3pm. Interment to in the Wyevale Community Cemetery, Wyevale, Ontario. Online condolences may be made at pjdartefh.ca
