Arthur’s Obituary
SMITH, Arthur St. Clair – 70 of Lockeport, passed away peacefully in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, Nova Scotia on Monday May 24, 2021.
Arthur was a well-liked man, who was always willing to lend a hand or give a ride whenever someone needed one. He was a faithful volunteer at the Church of England in Lockeport, mowing the lawn or helping out where he could. He is survived by his foster sister Anna Cotter and her children Donnie, Susan, Dale, Darren and Dennis. He will also be greatly missed by Wayne & Nancy Butler & family, Sandra Acker & family, Tommy Demings & family and Wallace Arnold’s family. He is also survived by his extended birth family.
He is predeceased by his foster parents Palmer (Tex) and Abigail (Butler) Arnold, Chep Cotter, foster brother Wallace Arnold and Nancy Demings (Butler).
Arrangements are under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral HomeShelburne. A private graveside service will take place in Upper Sandy Point Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Surf Lodge Nursing Home and Mary’s- A-bide Awhile for their excellent care during his stay. A special thank you to long-time friend, Tommy Demings for being so good to Arthur; your kindness will never be forgotten. As well, thank you to Mark Peterson and the staff at the Bayman; he certainly enjoyed your company and spending time there. Our thanks is extended to the staff of Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne for their kindness and compassion during this difficult time.
