On May 15, 2021, at the age of 82. Predeceased by his loving wife Christine (nee Nedin, 2009). Much loved father of Julie and husband Christian, Rusty, Tina and husband Mark. Adored grandfather of Mackenzie, Jakob, Annie, Elia, Harriet and George. Dear brother of Barbara and husband Marvin. William will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and most especially by his dog, MacDuff.
William retired from Canada Post after 30 years of service. Additionally, William served the town of Amherstburg in the capacities of Councillor, Deputy Reeve, and Mayor, the latter for 14 years. Over the years, he coached many baseball and hockey teams. William was an avid gardener, and also volunteered with the Amherstburg Horticultural Society. William was well respected by all who knew him. He was quick witted, adventuresome, very personable and kind. Most of all, William loved his family dearly.
If you so desire, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family. Cremation has taken place.
A private family service in honour of William was held at St. John the Baptist Church, Amherstburg.
