IN LOVING MEMORY
It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of
RONALD HOWARD BALLANCE (Ron) Nov 21, 1953 – May 8, 2021
Ron was born and raised in Nanaimo BC to Patricia and Howard Balance.
He is survived by his two sisters, Leslie (Phil) and Brenda and his loving wife of 18 years, Sandra, his children – Shane, Michael and BrieAnn and their spouses, as well as two stepchildren, Steven and Nicole and their spouses.
He was a proud Grandpa to 9 grandchildren who knew him as “Grandpa Monster” who loved him dearly. They always knew that grandpa had his pockets full of Grandpa Medicine (Mini Boxes of Smarties).
Ron was a true outdoorsman who loved to camp, hike, hunt and fish. His favorite past time was on the water fishing the China Creek Canal looking for the “BIG ONE” and calling out to the Rainman for the forecast.
Ron was a respected Deckhand at BC Ferries and retired in 2019 with 25 years of service.
His big laugh and sense of humor will be truly missed by many.
