Winona Rice
1925-2020
We mourn the passing of Winona Voss Rice (nee Pridham), 94,
of Moncton, NB, wife of the late Dr. R.N. Dean Rice (1921-1977), of
Petitcodiac. It occurred on January 12, 2020 at McNair Manor,
Riverview, after a long period of declining health. Born on July 11,
1925, she was daughter of the late LeBert Pridham and Vida (Reid)
Pridham, who lived in Sunny Brae, Moncton. She was an avid skater and
member of the Moncton Skating Club. Winona served as a volunteer at
the Moncton Hospital and was a longtime resident of Petitcodiac. She
loved the great outdoors and liked nothing better than a long walk
through the crackling autumn leaves.
Winona is survived by her sons Richard (Debra Dunville) of
Ottawa, Ontario and Patrick (Patricia), of Didsbury, Alberta,
grandchildren Caitlin and Aidan and sister Adrienne Mellon, of
Kingston, Ontario. As well as her parents and husband, she was
predeceased by her sister Elaine (1926-1992) and brother Brud
(1927-2005).
Special thanks go to the management and staff of McNair Manor
and Residence Aventure, for all their compassion, care and attention
given to Winona.
Graveside gathering will take place in the spring, in
Maplewood Cemetery, Petitcodiac, NB. Family and friends are encouraged
to contribute to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada at
www.alzheimer.ca or charity of their choice. Personal condolences may
also be offered through Armstrong’s Funeral Chapel /
Salisbury Funeral Home at www.keirsteads.ca (506-372-4800)
