Obituary of William Edward Martina
With family by his side, after a courageous battle, Corporal William Edward Martina C.D. passed away at home, at the age of 52. Devoted husband and best friend of Colleen Martina. Proud father of Cody (Kristina), Reece and Charlotte (Roc). Beloved son of Orlando and Mary Martina. Survived by his brothers Michael and O.J. (Melanie). Bill will be missed by his extended family along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. Wagner, the VON staff, Linda Coulter, his lifetime friend Glen Adam and the many friends and neighbours who have helped Bill along this journey.
Bill was a proud member of the Canadian forces for 20 years, severing in many peace keeping missions. His legacy lives on in the good deeds of the Canadian / UN mission which assisted in the prevention of the Bosnian war. Bill was a dedicated father and friend. He was always happy to lend a hand, solve a problem and have a beer. He will be solely missed. As he used to say, “keep your shit wired tight and be aware of your surroundings.” We will love you forever.
The family would like to invite friends to join them on Monday, August 17th, 2020 at DENNING’S OF AILSA CRAIG. If desired, memorial contributions to the Soldier On, Canadian Veteran Service Dog Unit or Baker Centre for Pancreatic Cancer would be appreciated as your expression of sympathy.
