William Allen
Large – 85, Lower
Truro, passed away peacefully, with loving family at his side, on
Sunday, August 9, 2020, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.
Born in Malagash, Cumberland County, he was a son of the late Herbert
and Viola (Millard) Large.
Allen is survived by his daughters, Louise (Gil) Russell,
Betty Hammill; granddaughters, Lisa (Frank), Christena, Pauline; great
grandchildren, Julia, Tyler, Zachary, Violet, all of Ontario;
siblings, Berton (Beatrice) Large, Truro; Kathleen Chivers, Malagash;
Willis (Jeannine) Large, Ottawa; Marie Embree, New Glasgow; Wayne
(Jeanette) Large, Truro; sister-in-law, Barb Gorman, Truro;
brothers-in-law, Wilfred (Isabel) Perry, Elson (Mary) Perry, Truro;
several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased
by his wife, Violet (Perry) Large; sister-in-law, Marie (Cecil) Yorke;
brother-in-law, Malcolm (Leota) Perry.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Allen’s
family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, August 13, 2020.
(Please use the front doors of the funeral home, wear
face masks and practice physical distancing.) Private
funeral service will be held on Friday, August 14,
2020, Keith Selwyn-Smith DLM officiating. Interment in Old
Barns Cemetery.
