Wayne Veinotte Saturday June 27th 2020

Wayne Veinotte, 75, of Lilydale, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at Shoreham Village, Chester, after a lifetime of various health issues and a recent diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
Born in Bridgewater, he was a son of the late Leslie and Beatrice (Young) Veinotte.
Wayne spent his working career as a sailmaker with North Sails then later with R.B. Stevens and Sons Limited. He enjoyed playing his guitar, singing, listening to music, fiddling with his computer and gardening. He was a member of the country gospel group Calvary Temple Echoes and they shared the gift of music at churches, community events, retirement facilities and even performed at the Hank Snow Reunion one year. Wayne especially enjoyed time spent with family and friends.
Wayne is survived by step-children from his first marriage; Cheryl (Roger) Sansome, Bridgewater, David (Phyllis) Tanner, Lilydale, and step-children from his second marriage Heidi (Karl) Brazier Tremblay, Halifax, Jeremy (Kara) Brazier, Forestburg, Alberta; just-like-a-son Steven Smith, Halifax; grandchildren, Kyle, Jacob, Charlie, Andrew, Nathan, Leah, Madison; sisters, Sylvia Price, Fort St. John, B.C., Theresa (Gordie) Bath, Kelowna, B.C., DeeDee Chalifoux, Edmonton; brothers, Carl (Shirley) Veinotte, Drumheller, Alberta, Eugene Veinotte, Victoria, B.C., Leslie (Maureen) Veinotte, Prince Rupert, B.C., Larry (Bobbi) Veinotte, Ottawa, Ontario; special cousin Maurice (Verna) Young, Second Peninsula; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by first wife Sheila (Rafuse); second wife Ursula (Wessell); brother-in-law Terry Price; great-grandchildren Jeremy and Jacob Jr in infancy; nieces, Cathy Veinotte-Craig and Barbara Demmings.
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy., #3, Lunenburg where a memorial service to celebrate Wayne’s life will be held on Friday, July 3 at 11:00 a.m. Rev’s. James Haughn and Fred Carr officiating. Interment will be in Martins Brook Cemetery, Martins Brook.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to The Lodge That Gives, Martins Brook Cemetery, Emmanuel Pentecostal Church in Middlewood or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
The family would like to thank the staff at South Shore Regional Hospital and Shoreham Village for their compassionate care during this final stage of Wayne’s life. Special thank you to daughter Heidi for her love and dedication to Wayne.
