Wayne Sampson Wednesday November 4th 2020

SAMPSON, WAYNE
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of our loving Brother, Father, Papa and Poppy on November 4, 2020 at his home in Brampton, ON. Wayne was 67 years old, born in Halifax, February 23, 1953, and the family later moved to Louisdale, Cape Breton, NS where he spent his childhood years, then ventured on to work in Brampton, ON at the age of 18. He was the son of Eileen (Scanlan) Samson and Alphonse Jeffrey Sampson Louisdale, NS. Wayne is survived by his 5 brothers: Steve Sampson; Paul (Erleen) Sampson; Brent (Erma) Sampson; (all from Louisdale, NS); Brian (Penny) Sampson Markham, ON; Lloyd (Barb) Sampson Fort McMurray, AB. He is also survived by his 3 beautiful daughters whom he cherished and were his world: Krystal (Andy) Belanger; Michelle (Konstantinos Cotoulas) Sampson; Ashley (Katie) Cowell, all from ON. Wayne is also survived by his 3 wonderful grandchildren: Scarlett May Belanger; Chloe May and Benjamin (Benny) David Manuel; also 2 step-grandchildren Nicholas & Melina Cotoulas (who he loved like his own) – all from ON. Wayne loved his grandchildren more than anything. They miss him so much. Wayne is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and many family and friends and one close childhood friend Derek Marchand, Louisdale, Cape Breton. NS who will surely miss him. Wayne was pre-deceased by his mother Eileen (Scanlan) Samson and step-father Alfred Samson Louisdale NS; his father Alphonse Jeffrey Sampson Louisdale NS; also grandparents, many uncles, aunts and cousins. He was also pre-deceased by his granddaughter, sweet little angel, Clara Joan Belanger, whom he loved beyond words and missed her dearly to his last day.
Cape Breton was Wayne’s home growing up and he made visits back to NS when time allowed. He loved Cape Breton seafood, his favourites were lobster, crab and fresh steamed clams…his brother Paul always found a way to have some for him, and he also enjoyed a good bowl of macaroni soup Cape Breton style. Wayne loved to visit his family and friends on his visits, especially visits to see his mom at the St. Anne’s Community Care Centre in Arichat NS. She loved his visits.
Wayne loved birthday celebrations and Christmas (his favourite time of the year) with his children and grandchildren. He loved music, crafting, Chinese food and Seafood. Also, anyone who knew him, knew he loved to take pictures. “Lots of memories” he would always say. Wayne left Louisdale, NS after high-school to start a new life in Ontario working and whatever life brought him. Well 48 years later he was still at the one and only place of employment in his work life at Brampton Chrysler. He was a very dedicated and devoted employee to Brampton Chrysler. He loved working and loved his job. He will surely be missed by all. Wayne was a very caring brother, always asking how everyone was doing. Wanted to make sure everyone was ok. He also loved his children and grandchildren dearly. He was a very devoted, loving and caring father to his children and grandchildren. They were His world and He was their world. They will all miss him very much.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Monday November 16, 2020 from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. Someday soon his ashes will be brought home to Cape Breton, NS.
