Vivian Anne Hill 1943 2020

Obituary of Vivian Anne Hill
Surrounded by family, music, prayers and love, Vivian (Snow) Hill, Dartmouth, passed on to her eternal home on November 16, 2020.
She faced death the same way she lived her life: with amazing courage, inspiring grace, and deep faith, choosing gratitude in every circumstance, and blessing those around her with her special gifts for hospitality and encouragement.
Vivian was dearly loved by her husband of 52 years, Donald Hill; and their daughters and families, Sara and Jamie, Emma and Heath Patterson (ON); Elizabeth and Scott, Mackenzie, Morgan and Grace Rhyno (Indiana). She loved her family fiercely, finding special joy watching her grandchildren discover and use their talents to bless others – something Vivian exemplified. Also surviving Vivian are her sister, Shirley Bishop (Steady Brook, NL); and brothers, Jackie (Shaunna) Snow (Glace Bay), and Everett Snow (Fort MacMurray, AB).
She was predeceased by parents, Will and Christine Snow (Port Morien) and sister, Norma Snow (Glace Bay).
Educated in Port Morien and Glace Bay, she went on to graduate from Mount Allison University in 1966 and 1967. Vivian was a teacher, pianist and choir director who shared her joy of music with passion and skill. A dedicated member of Woodlawn United Church, she served faithfully in many ministries, and especially loved working and fellowshipping with her UCW sisters. Proud of her Cape Breton heritage, Vivian treasured having friends and family gathered around her table. Whether at home or the cottage, she loved sharing stories and songs over tea, homemade treats, and games of Scrabble and Crib. She was always quick to laugh and available to listen, support and encourage.
We are so grateful for the care Vivian received from her medical team, caregivers, family and friends, as she bravely faced her journey with cancer.
Assured of the hope and promise of new life through Christ, Vivian took comfort in the scriptures, including 2 Timothy 4:7. « I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. »
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later time, when pandemic restrictions have eased.
