Memorial Donation
Violet Wanda Robinson was born in Brooks, Alberta on November 1, 1933. She was raised in Patricia Alberta the 10th of 13 children born to Carl Jones Beasley and Sarah Geneva Beasley (nee Benson).
Violet attended school until 10th grade and upon graduating married Marvin James Robinson of Brooks, Alberta on December 7, 1953 where they lived their entire lives. Violet worked various jobs throughout her life including at the local laundromat, bakery, hardware store, Sears retail store and finally the Brooks Primary School as a caretaker until her retirement.
Vi enjoyed gardening and especially pansies, roses and the color blue. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was so proud of them all. All little children made her smile. Family was important to Vi and she always looked forward to family gatherings and especially the Beasley reunions. She stayed in touch with all the Beasleys in Canada and the United States. Vi also loved crocheting. She spent many hours working on beautiful afghans. You could tell how much love, time and effort was put into each.
Being a long time member of the Brooks community (known to many as “Mrs. Robinson”) she always had a minute to stop and talk or to lend a helping hand. Vi is predeceased by her husband Marvin, parents Carl and Sarah Beasley, her brothers Roy, Lee, Glen (Verlin), Floyd, Leonard and Fred and her sisters Erma, Joy, Yvonne (Vonnie) and Maxine.
Vi is survived by her brother Jay, sister Jessie and her “special buddy” and sister in law Ann Beasley.
Vi is also survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dean Robinson; Randy Robinson and Lori Caron, Giselle Caron, Gilbert Caron; Carol Robinson, Nicole(Brandon) Friesen, Hayden, Nevelle, Bailey; Lisa (Darius) Nikkel; Shirley (Ken) Kobitz, Rob (Sherry) Donald, Cole and Addison, Ray (Mandy) Donald, Nixon and Chloe; Mike Kobitz, Monique (Donnie) Sealock, Danielle, Justus, Kennedy and Alyssa, Melissa (Mitch) Kobitz, Lily; Brent Robinson (Katherine), Caleb (Lynsey) Robinson.
Thanks to the staff at Sunrise Gardens for Vi’s great care. The family would like to especially thank Home Care, Dr. Coetzee and Janet as well as a very special thank you to Tammy Fowler for being with Mom always.
At Vi’s request there will be no service. A simple family graveside tribute will be made and attended by immediate family. Vi will be laid to rest next to her husband, Marvin Robinson in the Brooks Cemetery. The family requests in memory of Vi, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to a charity of your choice.
