Obituary
August 3, 1925 – December 17, 2020 Vi will be lovingly missed as a mother, nana and great nana. She would smile through every day and laugh carefree at any opportunity.
Vi spent much of her life in Victoria and Sooke, B.C. where her and her husband Stan built their house together. Vi had a great group of friends enjoying many years on Gordon’s beach. Her grandchildren remember spending summers with Nana and Grandpa, swimming at French beach, slip n’ sliding on big pieces of plastic, chasing the chickens and eating huckleberries in the back forest. Later they moved to Courtenay B.C. to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren.
Vi enjoyed gardening, trips to Reno, playing cards, watching game shows, and went to Bingo everyday. Every summer she enjoyed spending time at Shawnigan Lake and going out on the boat. Nana made the best pie crust in the world and passed on her recipe to her grandchildren, her mince meat tarts will be enjoyed for years to come.
Vi lived a long happy life and never complained about anything. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Susan, grand children Dan (Lisa), Carla (Mem), and Krista (James), and her great-grandchildren Steph, Zoe, Bridget, Aiden, Lukas, Austin, Enayah and Kashton. She was predeceased by her husband Stan and daughter Sharron. She also leaves behind a large Tofino family including Coral, Gill, Pearl, Fion, and Shell.
No service will be held at Vi’s request, a celebration of life will be held later in 2021.
