On Saturday, May 9th, Violet Mannella was called home at the age of ninety-three. She left us peacefully while her cherished songs played in the background; Amazing Grace and Ava Maria. Violet Mannella resided at the Nipissing Manor Nursing Home in Corbeil, Ontario over the last four years, and lived in South River, Ontario for the majority of her life. You would never see her without her sweets, such as chocolates, cookies and cheezies and peppermints. She also looked forward to her daughters bringing afternoon tea and cookies. She was a proud member of TOPS/COPS for forty years, receiving numerous awards over that period of time. At the Nipissing Manor she made friends and was loved by many of the employees. She found joy playing Bingo twice a week consistently winning the jackpot of a loonie or toonie. Throughout her life journey she was honest, thoughtful, gentle with her touch and words.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, there will be no visitation or public service at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Opatovsky Funeral Home – Moore Chapel, 9 Paget Street in Sundridge.
In lieu of flowers, we would love for you to share a memory with us on the message board or a donation to a children’s charity of your choice would be appreciated.
