Obituary
Klym, Vicky (Victoria) Marie: Born March 16, 1933, passed away January 18, 2020. Vicky is survived by her son, Jude Klym and her brother Mike (Verna) Hryhoryshyn. She was pre-deceased by her parents, her four sisters and two brothers.
Mom was born in Sandy Lake, Manitoba but lived the majority of her life in Calgary, Alberta. She was a devout Catholic and practised her faith with great zeal and dedication.
Despite suffering from debilitating arthritis and other ailments, she managed to get around using Calgary Transit and the Handi-bus service.
Mom touched many lives and had a unique ability to quickly make friends with whomever she met, usually by asking “are you Catholic?”. She would then go on to offer them either a rosary, scapular or religious medal!
I know that mom would want anyone who ever met her, to keep her in their thoughts and especially their prayers.
Mom’s final home on this earth was at the Chinook Care Centre and while she was only there for a month, made a great impression on all of the staff there that interacted with her. I would like to thank all of the staff there for the loving care and attention they gave to mom. They are second to none in their profession!
Please keep both my mom and myself in your prayers as we both greatly need them. Prayers will be at 7:00pm, Sunday, January 26, 2020 at St. Stephen Protomartyr Catholic Church, located at 4903-45th Street SW, Calgary, Alberta. Funeral mass will at 10:00am on Monday, January 27, 2020 at the same location. (Please remember that there is no longer access to 45th Street off of Glenmore Trail.)
