Obituary of Velena « Marlene » Bolivar
BOLIVAR, Velena “Marlene” – Age 79, of Hebbville, Lunenburg Co., passed away on the morning of Sunday, November 22,2020 at the South Shore Reginal Hospital, (Intensive Care Unit). Marlene was born in Middleton on November 18, 1941.She was the daughter of the late William LeRoy Boehner and Isabelle Delores Jefferson (MacLaughlin). She was predeceased by her husband, of 54 years, Robert Franklyn Bolivar; and her sister, Ann.
She is survived by her brothers, Bruce Boehner, Midville Branch; Kevin Jefferson, Wilmot; sisters, Gail Hussey, Bridgewater; Kim Jefferson, Middleton. Marlene is also survived by her two sons, Gregory Robert (Margaret); Deryck Royce (Tanya), both from Hebbville; granddaughters, Amy, Brittany, and Selena; grandson, Drew.
There is nothing that Marlene loved or enjoyed more than her sons and grandchildren. Her life was dedicated to their safety and happiness always. As a true matriarch she was forever selfless to ensure her sons and grandchildren always had what they needed. She will forever be remembered for her emotional support and her ability to always make our darkest of days better with just a simple conversation. So many of us will miss each of our favorite meals and treats she made for us and always served with a hug and a kiss. Her recent years were spent battling the demons of dementia, but she never gave up. She fought hard with a smile on her face and always recognized those she loved and adored all her life. She will forever be missed but always remembered by those who knew and loved her.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater. A small memorial for family only will be announced at a later date.
