Sylvia’s Obituary
Sylvia Doris Elgar of Hampden, NL. Passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 17th, 2020, at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, in Corner Brook, NL, at the age of 75 years.
She sent the last 28 years with the love of her life Maxwell Randell. The memories made and the love they shared is nothing short of beautiful and he will cherish these memories forever.
Sylvia was a beautiful and loving mother and a individual with a strong faith, she was a kind and soft spoken woman with a sweet and simple demeanor, who always had time to answer a question or solve a problem, no matter how small. Her signature gift of joy shown through her constant smiling and laughter will never be forgotten.
Sylvia is survived by her husband; Maxwell, her son; Shawn, her daughters; Sharon (Medrick), Cindy (Jerry), and Angela (Robert), her grandchildren; Terry (Nan’s boy), Lindsay, Jeffrey, Hillary, and Alicia, her great grandchildren; Aidan, Jonah, and Luke, her brother; Baxter Ropson (Annie), her brother-in-laws; Ewen (Verna), Guy (Debbie), Ron, Hayward (Una), and Greg (Penny), her sister-in-laws; Ivy, Bonnie (Francis), Shirley (Edgar), and Annie, her special sister-in-law and friend; Mae Ropson, and her fury feline; Zoey, her nieces, nephews, as well as many friends and family members. She was predeceased in death by her parents; Sarah and Fredrick Ropson, sister; Martha, brothers; Richard, Gerald, and Garland, her mother and father-in-law; Dulcie and George Randell, daughter-in-law; Cindy Moores, and her special friend; Cora Davis.
The urn that Sylvia’s earthly cremains will be held in will show how fondly she will be remembered, and sums up how much that we loved her in one sentence: Our Angel that lived laughed and loved.
Special thank you to the Palliative care unit, staff of the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, in Corner Brook, NL, special mention to her A.C.W friends, and her numerous friends in Hampden that made her feel so welcome, after relocation from Great Harbor Deep.
In keeping with Sylvia’s wishes cremation will take place and due to the Covid-19. Government restrictions, there will be a private family viewing for the immediate family only, follow by the Virtual live stream service that will take place on Saturday, May 23rd , 2020, at 2:00 pm, with Rev Charlene Laing officiating, with the grave side service to follow at a later date.
