Sydney Bryce Helgeton
April 12, 1961 – September 26, 2020
It is with the greatest sadness that the family of Sydney Bryce Helgeton announces his passing at the age of 59 years old. He bravely fought lung cancer, but sadly, lost his battle on Saturday, September 26th, 2020.
He passed peacefully in his home in Shell Lake, SK, cared for by his loving spouse and his three children. He will be deeply missed by his spouse of 15 years, Moira, his children: Melanie Helgeton (Randal Lariviere) of Meadow Lake, SK and children: Danton and Maryn, Geoff Helgeton (Tanya Jeffrey) of Shell Lake, SK and children: Drayden and Dysen, Amanda Helgeton (Reid Ledinski) of Metinota, SK and child: Lakelin, his step-children: Rusty Harder of Prince Albert, SK, Andrea Harder (Koda Dejarlais) of Prince Albert, SK and children: Roman and Kenai and Mackenzie Harder of Shell Lake, SK, his siblings: Fred (Jackie) of Turtleford, SK; Ross (Colleen) of Stettler, AB; Barbara (Bill) Norris of Quill Lake, SK; Gordon of Shell Lake, SK; David of Wadena, SK; Gary of Shell Lake, SK and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Syd was predeceased by: his father, Helmer Helgeton, his mother, Eveline Helgeton (nee: Peterson), his step-father, Wildrew Lang, his brother, Tom Helgeton, his nephew, Jarred Helgeton as well as Syd’s numerous friends and family members that came to visit and support him right till the end.
Syd was a courageous, tenacious, sweet and loving, father, brother, uncle and friend. Everyone who knew him, knew he was a bit of a rebel, and generally danced to his own tune. We all loved that about him. His light was put out much too soon and he will be missed very much.
