Sybil Kazenel Carsley
(née Kazenel)
Peacefully, with her daughter and son-in-law by her side, on Sunday, December 6, 2020, in Dallas, Texas. Beloved wife of the late Martin Carsley for seventy years. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Fred and Marylin Carsley, Barbara and Eric Solomon, Nancy and Marvin Budd. Cherished “Nana” of Elaine Carsley, David and Leora Carsley, Dana Carsley and Sam Yaffe; Natalie Solomon, Julie and Matt Feldman; Michael and Brenda Budd, Laura Budd and Jacob Kerekes. Proud great-grandmother (affectionately known as “Baby Nana”) of William and Henry Depow; Andrew and Dylan Budd; Jacob and Nathan Feldman; Samuel Martin Kerekes. Sister and sister-in-law of Jay and Roslyn Kazenel, and the late Gerald Kazenel. Sister-in-law of the late Harry and the late Grace Carsley, the late Alex and the late Jean Carsley. If you were lucky enough to know Sybil, you probably considered her as family too, and she felt the same about you. Sybil’s love of life, vibrancy, courage, optimism, determination, candor and insistence on a full social schedule will be cherished as a precious memory by all who knew her. Her family and friends will miss her fiery personality, which was perfectly matched by her signature fiery red hair. Donations in Sybil’s memory may be made to Temple Emanu-El-Beth Sholom Congregation, (514) 937-3575 ext.: 213, or visit www.templemontreal.ca/.
