Departed this life after being lovingly cared for by his wife Lynne Picard, his family and friends. He died peacefully of cancer at the Northumberland Hills Hospital in the Palliative Care unit.
Stephen was predeceased by his mother Pamela Seymour and his father Norman Duncan. He was the loving father of Spencer and Mitchell and brother of Sandra Dworatzek (Hans) and his nieces Kate and Jacquie from Guelph. He had numerous cousins but was especially close to Brenda Tilley (Steve) who supported him during his illness.
Also sharing the grief are his mother in law Rochelle Picard and brother in law Patrick Picard from New Brunswick and sister in law Michelle Picard (Terry) from Scarborough.
Stephen was a professional landscaper for more than 3 decades bringing environmental award winning beauty to homes across Ontario. After retirement, he shared his landscaping visions with grateful homeowners in Grafton and surrounding areas. He was also an avid traveller and made many friends and acquaintances in many nations. Amongst his passion was WW2 history and from that knowledge he developed a warrior like attitude to the many illnesses and health challenges during the past decade.
Steve had a big heart and he shared his compassion with almost everyone he met. He will be sorely missed but always remembered.
Visitation will be held at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. E. in Cobourg on Friday October 16, from 1 to 2pm and service from 2-3 pm.
