Stephen’s Obituary
Allen, Stephen Charles – 57, Pugwash River, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, and in the arms of his loving partner of 38 years, on Friday, January 17, 2020, at the Halifax Infirmary. Born in Pugwash, he was a son of Judy (Langille) Allen, Pugwash, and the late Hector Allen. Stephen, or “The Kipper” as he was affectionately known as by his friends and family, had worked at the Pugwash Salt Mine for 10 years and had been a lobster fisherman for 27 years. He enjoyed four wheeling, bass fishing, playing darts, washer toss and poker; taking Chevy and Lincoln swimming, barbequing chicken every Sunday, working at Windsor Salt and generally spending time with his family and friends. Besides his mother he is survived by his loving wife, Ann Vandenburg; daughter, Jennifer Filliter, Cole Harbour; sisters, Shelley (Percy) Tuttle, Marlene (Allan) Tuttle, all of Middleboro; brother, Stanley, Pugwash; father and mother-in-law, Donald and Gladys Vandenburg, Pugwash River; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Besides his father he was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Valerie (Rushton) Allen. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mundle’s Funeral Home, 204 Water St., Pugwash. Condolences may be sent to te family by visiting the funeral home at www.mmcfunerals.com
