Sharon’s Obituary
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, October 24th at 2 PM from the Pentecostal Church, Embree for Family and invited guests only and following Covid Government Regulations.
Passed away at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, NL, Sharon Manetta Anstey, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She is predeceased by her parents, Harry & Ella Anstey.
Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her siblings, Nolan (Linda), Mary Kay (Olaf), Andrew (Cathy), & Paul (Trudy); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.
Sharon graduated from MUN in 1979 and dedicated 30 years of her life to the teaching profession, 29 of which were in Roddickton, NL, where she was a high school principal for a number of years. She was best known as the “Biology Teacher”. She retired in 2008 and moved back to Embree, NL, which was her childhood home. Her favorite pastime was reading which she persued with a passion.
She was a very generous person and especially desired that gratitude be expressed to family, clergy, close friends, medical personnel and anyone else who contributed to her care and upheld her in prayer during her illness.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place.
