Obituary of Ruth Evelyn Morris
peacefully with her family at her side, on Wednesday, November 18, 2020. Born in Belleville on April 18, 1930, she grew up in Snow Road, Ontario, daughter of the late Robert and Marabell Sargeant. Beloved wife of the late Clifford Ernest Morris. Much loved mother of Robert, Michael (Wanda), Richard (Julie) and Lynn (Peter). Doting Grandma to her eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Predeceased by grandson Scott and by brother Thomas (Winnifred) Sargeant. Loved by nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ruth will be remembered for her quiet strength, kind heart, and generosity. She loved her Lord, family, and friends deeply. She was a devoted teacher for 37 years, finishing her career at Sir. James Whitney. She enjoyed crafts, quilting, and made the best apple pie. A good joke could make her laugh for days. She cherished her church family at Parkdale Baptist, her sisters at the Rebekah Lodge, and the Retired Teachers’ Lunch Bunch. A Private Graveside Service will be held on Monday, November 23, 2020 at the Wellington Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel (613-968-2273). Extended family and friends can join a Live Stream of the service available at www. steelefuneralhome.ca . Memorial donations to Community Care for South Hastings (ccsh.ca) would be appreciated by the family.
