Obituary of Russell Edward Walsh
Russell Edward Walsh, 78, of North Alton passed away October 26, 2020 in the Valley Regional Hospital following a brief illness. He was the son of Milford Walsh and Clarice (Croft) Walsh.
Russell was born in Gaspereau and spent the first half of his life there, he then moved to North Alton to spend his remaining years.
He relished in listening to country and western music, his utmost favorite being Wilf Carter. Russell had a great affection for animals, especially dogs. He enjoyed visiting farm markets throughout the Valley, and always made sure to tell the vendors they were charging too much for their produce. Russell also had a passion for politics, which usually led to many lively discussions.
Russell was never happier than when he was in a car going for a drive.
He loved and appreciated those who were there to help him, especially in his time of need. His family are forever grateful to his neighbours and close friends for their support, thoughtfulness, and generosity over the years.
He is survived by his sisters Eileen Neaves, Kentville; Lorraine Vaughan, Halifax; nephews Bryan Neaves (Ruth), Antigonish; Michael Neaves (Michelle), Bridgewater; Craig Walsh (Kathy), Coldbrook; niece Susan Neaves, Coldbrook.
Besides his parents, Russell was predeceased by his sister Gladys Walsh; brothers-in-law Clair Neaves; John Vaughan; infant sister Pauline Walsh.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no service at this time. Memorial donations may be made to the SPCA or The Royal Canadian Legion, Kentville. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822). Online condolences may be made by visiting: www.serenityfuneralhome.ca
