Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Rosemarie Katherine (Wald) Horn on April 18, 2020 at the age of 86 years. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Fred Horn, 3 daughters-in-law, 2 grandsons, 2 brothers and 1 sister. She leaves to mourn her children, JoAnn (Dwayne), James (Pam), Robert (Deborah), Myra, Doug, Shelia and Sharon (Gary). 16 grand children and 18 great grandchildren. She also leaves to cherish her memory sister Patsy and special niece Kathy as well as many, many nieces and nephews and dear friends.
Mom was born on January 23, 1934 in Beiseker, Alberta. She learned music at an early age and played piano and organ for church services. She also taught piano and accordion to children in the community. When she married Herman Corry they moved to Calgary and had 4 children. They moved to Grande Prairie in 1965, where she continued to teach music. She also began to sell real estate and helped start the MLS office there. During this time, Rosemarie enjoyed doing pottery and learning photography.
In 1978 she married Fred Horn and moved to Spirit River, where she helped Fred with his real estate business and sold Tupperware. In the summer of 1982, they made the move to West Kelowna where she continued to help Fred with his real estate career. Rosemarie also volunteered as a musician at Smith Creek Care Home for over 26 years.
Rosemarie’s favourite things were packing up their little motorhome with Fred and going on their circuit to visit their kids and grandkids, and also having family to come visit them at their vacation property at Holiday Park near Winfield.
When she moved to Westwood Retirement Resort, she enjoyed entertaining her fellow residents by hosting sing-alongs.
Family was her greatest treasure. She loved every one of the kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and nieces and nephews. They brightened every moment of her days.
