Obituary
Rosella (Rose) Mary Porter passed away peacefully on March 8, 2020 at the Foothills Hospital at the age of 81 years. She was the widow of Murray Porter who shared over 50 years of marriage.
Born on September 3, 1938, in Kipling, SK, Rose was the daughter of Jack and Anne Kashmere. She graduated from the Regina General School of Nursing and went on to practice in Edmonton, Kipling, Winnipeg, and Calgary, retiring from the Alberta Children’s Hospital. Rose was an active member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, and the CWL. She volunteered her time using her crafting skills in knitting, and sewing to make rosaries, and keepsakes for missions all over the world, as well as newborn blankets and clothing for friends and family.
Rose is survived by her two sons, John and Craig; two grandsons, Quinn and Jarod; her sisters, Peggy and Deb; her brothers, George and Bob; and her mother Anne. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Murray; her father Jack; and her brother William.
Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (10827 24 Street SW) on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 10:00am. Reception will follow and then a graveside service at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
