Our loving husband, father, and papa, Ronald “Ron” Albert Cecile Chamberlain, of LaSalle, Ontario, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, on Friday December 11th, 2020, at Windsor Regional Hospital at 82 years of age.
Ron was the beloved son of the late Ronald and Beatrice Chamberlain, and caring brother to the late Jack Chamberlain, Heather Chamberlain, the late Doreen Young, Wayne Chamberlain, and Shari Lucyk. He will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews as his gentle and kind demeanor touched everyone who knew him. Ron will be missed by his four sons from his first marriage, Ron “Chris” Chamberlain, Richard Chamberlain, Roger Chamberlain and the late Robert Chamberlain.
Ron is best remembered as a loving and devoted husband to Joyce Chamberlain, and an incredibly giving and supportive father to Gregory Chamberlain (Courtney) and Robyn Duby (Jason). His life’s devotion was to his family as he worked diligently in the trucking industry to be a provider, which led to his culminating position as president of IFS Trucking. He instilled a strong work ethic and a gregarious personality, as he always had a funny quip, and a smile on his face. His wife and children were his favourite past-time. He lavished them with his time by coaching teams, attending practices and games or competitions, and helping his wife to achieve her dreams. He took great pride in his family especially in his grandchildren. He will be remembered fondly as a generous, big hearted, and committed papa by Logan Chamberlain, Quinn Chamberlain, Brooke Chamberlain, Reid Chamberlain, Verity Duby, and Cosette Duby. He was often found in the stands of each and every hockey, t-ball, volleyball, basketball, or early morning figure skating practice. He was well known by coaches and fellow fans as simply “papa”. He was consistent in his ability to make time for everyone whether it was a dance recital or the first few steps on the ice, papa could be counted on to be there. He was known to share his sage wisdom and animated conversation with his son and daughter in-laws. Ron had so many lessons and passions that he shared with his family and the seeds that he planted have flourished in his children and grandchildren. Ron loved to spend time with family travelling and we are blessed with memories of Mexico, Florida, multiple cruises, England, and especially Evergreen. He often showed his love to those around him with acts of service, whether it was changing furnace filters, helping with cars or yard maintenance, he could be counted on to be there in any time of need. He will forever be remembered and cherished by absolutely everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A small celebration of life service will be held for close family only out of respect for the current pandemic restrictions. In honour of Ron’s son and granddaughter, donations to the Canadian Diabetic Association would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
