Romain Carrier
1939-2020
Romain Carrier died on Sunday, February
16th, 2020 at the age of 80 years and 11 months
at the Villa Renaissance in Dalhousie. Originally from Eel River
Crossing, Romain was one of the oldest heart transplant recipients
across the country since December 9, 1990. He was the son of
the late John Carrier and Ida Cayouette Carrier of Eel River
Crossing.
Besides his mother Ida, he leaves to mourn his brothers and
sisters: Edmond, Annette, Robertine, Rhéal (Nicole), Armel
(Lucie) and Gilberte (Bill Hickey) as well as several nieces, nephews,
cousins and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father John, his brother-in-law
Lucien and his sister-in-law
Thérèse.
Romain, a career teacher, started here and ended up in
Kanawaki (Montreal). He was a customs officer at Dorval Airport before
retiring from the civil service. He loved nature, animals and
photography.
During the last years of his life at the Villa, he made
friends with the employees. Even with dementia, you could make him
smile with joy.
A sincere thank you to the staff of the Villa, to Dr. Louis
Bujold and Dr. V. MacMillan.
The funeral will be celebrated on Wednesday February
9th, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. at the Holy Trinity

Parlor of Eel River Crossing on Tuesday, February 18 from 7:00 p.m. to
9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, February 19 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30
