Obituary
Love, light and laughter; These three things were sure to be found in Roger and Delwyn. Roger Graham was the oldest of nine, which played part in him being his grandfather Archie’s big baby. Archie spoiled Roger with time and love and brought life to his interest in music.
Roger was blessed with musical talents and had such an amazing voice of professional quality. He could pick up on any song effortlessly and gained many fans throughout the years.
Roger was a spontaneous person and was known for making spur of the moment decisions. Whether it was picking up stuff around town or bidding farewell to Yorkton in his rear view mirror, Roger made the most of every day.
Delwyn Everette was the baby of the family and it’s safe to say he was everyone’s brat. From humour, generosity and community involvement, Delwyn had a huge impact on everyone around him.
Delwyn had a heart for the young people of Ministikwan and pushed them to betterment in many areas, with his true expertise being sports. He devoted so much of his time and energy into the youth and each team he coached. He will forever be remembered for being an amazing coach, leading his teams to championships and ultimately “putting Ministikwan on the map”.
It was rare to catch any seriousness between Roger and Delwyn, as they both liked to tease and fool around. They could easily light up any setting they were in, just by sharing their sense of humour. If you were fortunate to have known these two, you can attest to this.
Roger told numerous stories of fights he had been
in and the many adventures he had been through in his lifetime and spoke of how he was the toughest guy around and his high involvement in gangs… all untrue of course, but if he thought it made him sound cool, then he claimed it.
Delwyn was something else. You could not be a part of his life without becoming the target of his humour on a regular basis. Whether near or far, if you weren’t in his physical presence, he’d be sure to reach out and call or message just to throw friendly jabs and insults.He especially enjoyed aiming the brunt of his jokes and teasing towards his siblings, nieces and nephews and it became his thing to refer to many of them as “stupid idiots”. Delwyn’s boundaries were minimal but it was all in fun and that’s just who he was.
It’s truly bittersweet to see Roger and Delwyn go. To say they are an enormous loss to the family is an understatement. They will both be missed beyond measure, but to have them reunited with loved ones gone ahead and to have them whole and safe with Jesus, brings so much joy and comfort.
Roger is survived by: his wife, April Crookedneck; his children, Jana (Benson), Jamie, Brent, Deanna (Landuma) and step-son Ethan; his grandchildren, Dusty, Kaylee, Faith, Sedaris, Dominic, Gabrielle, Gaborik, Gracie, Kyren and Nevaeh.
Roger & Delwyn are also a part of a family of 9 siblings. It is with great sadness they leave behind brothers Glenn (Geraldine), Dexter, Leon (Liv), Patrick (Kim). Sisters Vivian (Frank) Keshane and Melissa ( Nicholas) Marshall.
Predeceased by: their parents, Gabriel Crookedneck & Dora Masson; their brother, Laverne Crookedneck; nephews, Simon & Jolen; niece, Lindsey Swiftwolfe; and sister-in-law, Lorrieann Crookedneck.
