Obituary
Robert Arthur Nashim, story-teller, animal whisperer, tell it like it is trucker, passed away on June 26, 2020 at the age of 78 in the presence of his children.
Robert, Dad, Grandpa, Pops, Sonny, Pardner, was a man with few regrets. He loved gardening, fishing, hitting the open road with his dog and most of all, his family. Telling stories of his adventures to anyone who would listen, he embellished where necessary to get the desired reaction. You always knew where you stood with him as he had an opinion on everyone and everything and was not shy to tell you. If he loved you, he loved you with his whole heart.
Robert leaves behind many family and friends, especially his proudest accomplishment, his children Jim (Kim) Nashim and Krista (Luke) Umble. He is survived by the mother of his kids, Doris Nashim and their five grandchildren, Ethan Nashim, Amanda Nashim, Katie Nashim, Jacob Umble and Jesse Umble. He will be missed by his loving sisters Mae Pears, Marie (Willy) Wychopen along with numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.
Robert was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Lottie Nashim, brother Frank Nashim, brother-in-law Gerry Pears, sisters-in-law Elaine Tkachuk, Linda Inkster and Carmen Nashim, parents-in-law Wilfred and Regina Inkster, great-nephew Blayne Boehlke, special aunt Waldie Pruden, uncle Larry Bidlock and his beloved dog Lizzie.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lac La Biche Humane Society.
Public visitation will take place on Thursday July 9th, 2020 between 5pm – 8pm at the Lac La Biche Heritage Centre in Lac La Biche, AB. Come and go casually, just like he did.
