Robert Bob Tozer 2020

Robert « Bob » Edward Tozer, 81, of Sunny Corner passed away peacefully at the Miramichi Hospital on Monday, February 3, 2020. Born at his parent’s home in Sunny Corner, he was the son of the late Edward and Edna (Mullin) Tozer.
Bob is survived by his wife, Audrey Marie (Demerling) Tozer; three daughters, Anita Hitchcock (Tom) of Saint John, Tanya Duncan (John), of Fredericton, and Melanie Somers (Scott) of Miramichi; two sons Bradley Tozer of Fredericton and Bill (Carolyn) Tozer of Belleville, ON; four sisters Joan (Doug) Norton of Sunny Corner, Lois MacDonald of Fredericton, Geraldine (Doug) Black of Quispamsis, and Dale Tozer of Fredericton; grandchildren: Alex, Marsha, Nathan, Nicholas, Marissa, Sarah, Addysen, Brynne, and Luke; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Bob was predeceased by his parents.
Bob worked for many years as a purchasing agent and later purchasing manager at various mining companies in Ontario and New Brunswick, including Elliot Lake, Heath Steele Mines, and Mount Pleasant Tungsten Mines. His purchasing skills were then used on large construction projects in New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, and Alberta. While working in the Elliot Lake area of northern Ontario in 1960, he met his wife, Audrey, of nearly 59 years.
A life-long Presbyterian, Bob attended St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church in Sunny Corner and the Kirk of St. George Presbyterian Church. Bob was known to tackle carpentry and wood working projects, including building two family homes. He was always willing to use his carpentry skills and building experience to help others. Like his father before him, Bob was an avid salmon angler of the Northwest Miramichi River and its many tributaries. For the past number of years, including this past fall, Bob could be found felling trees on the family land, using his ATV and trailer to move the firewood closer to the home for further sawing, drying, splitting, and storage.
The family will receive visitors at Meadows Funeral Home, 150 Northwest Road, Sunny Corner, NB, on Monday, February 10, 2020 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church, Sunny Corner on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 11 AM with Pastor Tom Ettinger officiating.
