Bob Goldsmith of Nanton, Alberta passed away on September 13, 2020 at the Silver Willow Lodge at the age of 88 years. Bob is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Liz) Goldsmith (nee Jones); his daughter Brenda & Ralph Bedson; his son Robert (Bob) Goldsmith Jr.; grandchildren Erin, Trent, and Kelton Bedson, Taylor and Lucas Goldsmith; sisters-in-law Joyce Goldsmith, Doreen Heck; brother-in-law Earl Taylor and many, many nieces and nephews.
Bob was predeceased by his parents Edward George Goldsmith and Agnus Sorbie Goldsmith (nee Stark) and all three of his brothers; Ernie Foss, Raymond Goldsmith and George (Jim) Goldsmith.
Bob was born in Calgary where he spent his youth on the Bow River with his brothers. A mechanical aptitude and an early career choice as a heavy-duty mechanic lead to a life-time interest in tinkering with anything mechanical in nature. A fondness of camping lead Bob to build of his own recreational vehicles. He had various employment positions throughout Calgary but retired in 1994 from ATCO Gas Company as a Building Operator.
At this time, no memorial service will take place.
