It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Robert (Bob) Clarke on December 1st , 2020, at the Caribou Veteran’s Memorial Pavilion (Miller Centre), at the age of 72 years, in the presence of his loving family. Predeceased by his mother Margaret (nee Graham); father Herbert; and brother Jim.
Leaving to mourn with loving memories are his wife of 47 years Marie (nee Philpott); son Richard (Allan); daughter Janice St. John (David) and his three grandchildren who were the centre of his world: Jessica, Jacob and Alexa. Also leaving to mourn, brothers: Bill, John (Margaret), Ralph, Malcom (Andrea) and Richard (Dina); and sisters: Joy Taaffe (Greg), June and Susan Spencer (Keith); as well as a large circle of family and friends.
Bob was a loving husband, a devoted father and the best grandfather ever. He loved his time working at Hydro and I.B.E.W and all the friends he made along the way. He will be tremendously missed and forever loved. We know he is now resting in peace.
We would like to give a special thanks to the amazing staff at the Caribou Veteran’s Memorial Pavilion (Miller Centre) on 2VP South. The smiles and compassion you shared with Bob and Marie over the last year made life so much easier and that will never be forgotten. Thank you to Wavey and Jabez Lane, Noah and Bernitt Smith for being the best of friends to Bob and Marie and for sharing in so many of their most favorite memories. To the Philpott boys, thank you for adopting Bob as one of your own – too many good times to count. To Dave Higdon and Doug Porter for being such wonderful neighbors for the last 40 years and for being there when Bob could not.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation will take place from 2 – 9 p.m. on Friday December 4th. Inurnment will take place on Saturday, December 5th at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. A celebration of Bob’s life will take place at a later time when we can do so in a way that Bob would have wanted. Donations in memory of Bob can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or to the HealthCareFoundation.ca.
“You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are grey. You’ll never know dear, how much I love you. Please don’t take my sunshine away.”
