1927-2020
It is with sadness and love that we announce the passing of Ray Riske, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Ray passed into the presence of his Saviour on December 26, 2020.
Ray was born in Edmonton to Emil and Emilie (née Seutter) Riske. He and his identical twin brother Roy grew up on the farm and later dairy farmed together. In 1958 he married Jennie Egert and they raised 3 daughters.
Ray will be forever loved and missed by his wife of 62 years, Jennie; daughters Carolyn (Kim), Berniece (Randy), Grace (Sean); grandchildren Laura (Alex), Jillian (Peter), Nolan (Megan), Mark, Ross, Emilie, Raelyn; and great-granddaughter Gia. Also mourning his passing are sister-in-law Lorraine, the Egert families, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Ray was predeceased by his twin brother, Roy.
A private graveside family service will be held on December 31, 2020. Those who wish to virtually attend can do so at 1:30 pm at youtu.be/Z_ZTgtt5-zk. Once COVID restrictions are lifted, a celebration of Ray’s life will take place.
The family is grateful to Shepherd’s Care Millwoods for the love and care Ray received.
If so desired, donations can be made in Ray’s memory to “Millwoods Community Church” for local mission projects.
