Obituary
Passed away suddenly after suffering a stroke on Wednesday October 28, 2020 at his home. Rick Klooster, at the age of 59, was the beloved husband of Diane Klooster (MacKenzie), caring stepfather of Ashley Robinson, Tyler Robinson and Stuart Robinson (Jessica). Rick was predeceased by his mother Ruth Klooster and his nephew Justin Klooster. He was the loving son of Herman Klooster and is survived by his siblings Debbie Klooster, Brenda Walton (Jim), Kevin Klooster (Cindy), and Randy Klooster (Lori). Rick will always be remembered by his brother-in-law Jimmy MacKenzie (Manon), his sisters-in-law Joyce Fraser (Neil), Leona Jarvis (Gary) and Kim MacKenzie (Serge), his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who loved and adored him.
Rick was a hopeless romantic, undeniably devoted to his wife. He would do anything for his family and friends, always looking out for everyone. He was a hardworking man, dedicated to his career and could never sit still, always finding something to keep him busy. Through Diane’s family, Rick developed a love for the beautiful island of Cape Breton, so much so that plans to spend their retirement years out there were in the works. In recent years, Rick & Diane lived a life of travel and adventure, seeing parts of the world they always dreamed of. Without fail, if you turned on the radio in Rick’s truck, an Elvis classic was sure to be playing. He was passionate about fishing, camping, golfing and was unwaveringly committed to the Toronto Maple Leafs, always thriving in the rivalry of family and friends. He was a man with a nickname for everyone and would always come through with a laugh, especially when you needed it most. Rick was one of a kind and was truly loved and adored by so many. He will be forever missed.
Visitation will be held at Macintyre Family Funeral Home, 5399 Wellington Road 52, Erin on Friday November 6, 2020 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm & 7:00pm – 9:00pm. A private family memorial service will be held on Saturday November 7, 2020 from the funeral home with interment to follow at Erin Union Cemetery. Donations in Rick’s memory can be made to East Wellington Community Services.
