Obituary
“Rick” Richard Nordal
March 19, 1946 – December 11, 2020
On Friday, December,11th, 2020, our much loved husband and dad was freed from his many physical challenges He left this world peacefully, at Selkirk Regional Health Centre, at the age of 74 years.
He leaves behind his wife of 46 years Ruth; daughter Shaylene (Melanie); son Scott (Casey); the light of his life his granddaughter Jesika; and step-grandchildren Emily, Alexis and Maximus.
He is predeceased by his parents Walter and Sophie; his father in law Metro and mother in law Helen.
Rick loved all sports, however hockey was his sport as he was a force to be reckoned with on the ice. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Rick had a 33 year career working for Air Canada. After retiring at the age of 55, he volunteered at the Marine Museum, it was his heart and soul. He loved to be there cutting grass, helping with pancake breakfasts and Halloween Haunt, selling draw tickets or whatever was needed of him.
Dad will be remembered for his love of Tim Hortons, watching all sports, cruising in his many vehicles, snow blowing, cutting grass fishing with Scott, helping Shay with yard work and a good Half Moon deluxe hotdog with a canned Pepsi.
When I cash in I would like to go
Where the geese fly low and the bucks run slow
Where the fishing is good
Anytime of the year
And you don’t need all
That expensive gear!
Where the weather is nice
The whole year round
With about two months
Where there is snow on the ground
No vicious storms, no droughts, no tornadoes
A good summer for growing tomatoes
