Obituary
Suddenly on Tuesday May 12, 2020 at his residence in Erin. Rick Kowacz at the age of 67 was the beloved husband, soul mate and best friend of Deb Kowacz for 44 years, loving father of Kathy Craig (Andrew) and Michael Kowacz (Kate) and adoring grandpa of Sophie, Chloe, Claire and Zoe. Rick was the caring brother of Brien Kowacz (Tanya) and the late Steven Kowacz and cherished son of Doreen and the late Kazimierz Kowacz.
Rick developed an interest in occupational health and safety, earning his CRSP and sparking his entrepreneurial spirit to start his own consulting company. Rick had a passion for gardening, woodworking and could never turn down sweets and treats. His wry sense of humour and the joy he had spending time with his kids and granddaughters are among the qualities his family will forever miss.
A private family service will be held at the funeral home and a celebration of Rick’s life will be held at a later date. Donations in Rick’s memory can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
