Richard Damphousse, age 78, died peacefully on Thursday, November 26th, 2020 at Windsor Regional Hospital, Metropolitan Campus after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s. His life will be forever cherished by his loving wife of 55 years, Diana (nee. Gilligan), his two daughters, Michelle (Ian) Love and Brenda (David) McDowell and his 6 grandchildren Darcy, Sean, Liam, Robert, Richard and Claire. Brother-in-law to Michael (Connie) Gilligan.
Richard was born and raised in Windsor to Peter and Juliette (nee. Chartrand) Damphousse and was the elder brother to Louise Schram and Diane Cullen. Richard felt blessed with a very large extended family and each member was held close to his heart. A family rich in faith, love and tradition provided him fulfillment beyond measure.
In 1964, he started his first tool & die apprenticeship and worked for almost 45 years at Canadian Engineering & Tool Company and will be remembered for his dedication to his craft and closeness with his colleagues. He truly loved his job. Richard was a founding member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #9528.
On Saturday November 28, 2020 reservations and personal face coverings are required to attend visitation from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. and a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. at Families First, 1065 Lauzon Road, East Windsor, 519-969-5841.
