In loving memory of Reta Eleanor Johnson (Dunphy) 76 years. Passed away peacefully at Health Sciences North on Friday, November 6th, 2020. Beloved wife of 43 years to Ronald Johnson
predeceased in 2011. Loving mother of Ann of Guelph, Carrie of Azilda and Owen of Sudbury. Cherished grandmother of Matthew, Alexandra, Mackayla and Lenae. Predeceased by her parents Ernest and Bernice Dunphy (nee Farraher), special Uncle Rev. Fr. Wilfred Dunphy and brothers Philip and Wilfred (Levita also predeceased). Dear sister Ann Brillinger (Dunphy) and sisters-in-law Betty Dunphy and Doreen Johnson (Gordon predeceased). She will be sadly missed by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Reta was born in Boston, Massachusetts on May 9th, 1944. After her mother passed away when she was only 4, her uncle Rev. Fr. Wilfred Dunphy took over the care of the 4 children and relocated to Canada where they were raised and educated. She attended business college in Belleville. In 1964 Reta met the love of her life in Toronto and they were married in 1968 and went on to have their 3 children. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, and she was a talented seamstress. She was a devoted grandmother to her grandchildren who brought so much joy into her life.
There will be no visitation or service. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. She will be entombed alongside her husband in the Civic Memorial Cemetery. Donations to the Sudbury Food Bank would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home.
