It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond Lloyd Battist, age 66 of Scotch Hill in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, on Sunday November 15, 2020. Raymond was the son of Jean and the late Raymond Battist of Waterside. He is survived by his loving mother, Jean, Waterside; sisters, Kay Langille, Haliburton; Elizabeth Battist, Waterside; niece, Jennifer (Rob), Pictou Island; nephews, Ryan Langille, Haliburton; Matthew Hughes, Red Deer; Michael Hughes, Waterside. Raymond, known as Plum to many of his friends, spent his career as an excavator operator with Rollie MacDonald, King Freight Lines for 48 years. A job which he loved and excelled at. He was known as one of the best. He took great pride in his property which was park like. In earlier days you could always find Raymond sitting in his corner at Tim Horton’s. A public graveside Service will be held Thursday at 2 PM at Waterside Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or the Waterside Cemetery. www.mclarenfuneral.ca
