Passed away peacefully at home on October 06, 2020, at 75 years of age. Loving mother of Lisa Renaud and husband Brian, and Lannette (Lani) Howson and husband Bryan. She will be greatly missed by her beloved grandchildren Josh, Allie, Jacob and Maeghan. Predeceased by her parents Stephen (1986) and Leola Cylka (2001). Dear sister of Sandy Sweet, Dodi Johnson and husband Rick, and the late David Cylka (2010). Special Aunt of Travis Sweet and wife Kim, Lauren Johnson and Daryl Johnson. Dear friend to many.
Pauline was, “Our Everything.” She loved to live and she lived to love. The love and light that she cast upon everyone was far reaching. She was so many things to so many people. Mother, sister, “Mammy”, aunt, friend, the list was endless and boundless. That’s how Pauline lived, there wasn’t anyone she didn’t touch with her precious light that didn’t feel that endless, boundless and fierce intensity of her love. She was the foundation that solidified us all. There wasn’t anything that Pauline wouldn’t do for someone. She gave unconditionally and expected nothing in return.
Pauline always made family a priority. Her sisters, “The Triplets” were her best friends. They never shared a harsh word between them, NEVER. Always just love and support. They often got together for Sister-fest, annual family Girl’s Weekend and the Harrow Fair. They would always dress up for the Harrow Parade in a multitude of theme-based costumes, that would of course include tutus. “The Triplets” were inseparable. Even though the distance now seems too great to bear, she will never be separated from their hearts.
Her children and grandchildren were her greatest source of love, pride and joy. She was a grandmother to four, but “Mammy” to all. Mammy was always there to support, cheer on, guide and would be at every sporting event, celebration, school function and life milestone.
Pauline involved herself in so many aspects of life. She lived life to the fullest, each and every day. Her love for her dog Jax sparked her interest in Dog Agility and she made many great, long lasting friendships with the Border City Barkers. Pauline attained Jax’s St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Certificate so she could volunteer at Richmond Terrace Nursing Home. She brought much joy to the residents with her warm smiles, kind words and Jax’s joyful exuberance.
Pauline surrounded herself with many great friends that she made over the years. From her Precision Plastics family, to her special neighbours and her lifelong friends, she loved spending time with all of them. She was always there for her friends, whether it was volunteering at the Legion, playing darts, attending bingo or simply sharing a tea.
Pauline’s passion for life, family and friends was unprecedented. She lived by the philosophy, “To love, to give, to be thankful.”
Mom, sister, “Mammy”, aunt, friend. We thank you for teaching us all how to love and how to give. We will forever be THANKFUL. Rest peacefully, “Our Everything”.
