Pauline’s Obituary
SPINNEY, Pauline Bonnie ~Age 98, of Aylesford, Kings Co., passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2020, in Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born on August 23, 1921, in Millville, Kings Co., she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Mae (Durling) Hall. Pauline had been employed at various retail stores in Kingston, Aylesford and Berwick areas. She was a former member of the Aylesford United Church Women and had been an active member of the Aylesford-Auburn Unit of the Red Cross Society. Pauline loved to drive and travel with good friend Charlotte, touring back roads and going out for meals. Family meant everything to her, and she loved daily trips to the grocery store so her pantry was always full when family members would come to visit. Pauline was a great cook, very generous with her home goodies that were always found on the counter. She took great pride in her home, antiques, property and her flower gardens were immaculate. Pauline loved her sun porch spending many hours doing Swedish weaving of Afghans on monk’s cloth, making over 40 for family members and friends who would want one. Company was always welcomed at her door and the tradition of her crystal candy dish always being full continued on after she moved to Grand View Manor for the enjoyment of staff and visitors. Pauline will be remembered for her sense of humour and will be sadly missed by her family, friends and community. Surviving are her daughter, Gail (Perry) McKay, Aylesford; daughter-in-law, Trudie Spinney, Aylesford Mountain; grandchildren, Tammy, Deanna (Jeff), Kara, Jacob and Isaac; great grandchildren, Jayde, twins Colin and Parker, Layla; nine nieces and nephews who all called her “Aunt Bodie”; sister-in-law, Olive Ogilvie; special friend, Charlotte Keddy. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Gordon F. Spinney; son, Terrie Spinney; sister, Donna (Manson) Thomas. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will take place and announced at a later date in Aylesford Union Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to Grand View Manor or to your favourite charity. The family would like to say a special thank you to all at Grand View Manor for their wonderful care and respect shown to their mum, who loved each and every one of you. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free 1-855-825-3448. Online guestbook may be signed by visiting: www.middletonfuneralhome.com
