The family of Paul Victor Bird is deeply saddened to announce that Paul passed away suddenly on May 15, 2020. Paul was born on November 6, 1959, in Victoria, B.C., the youngest child to Victor and Isabelle Bird.
Paul was very loved by his family and a friend to many. Paul is survived by his loving sweetheart Miriam Grace Bird and his 4 beloved children; James (Samantha) Bird, Stephanie (Michael) Peterson, Matthew (Camila) Johansen, Lauren (Isaac) Hadley, and his 12 grandchildren: Gabriel, Luke, Adam, Mea, Aliya, Benjamin, Maili, Aiden, Leo, Elijah, Wendy, and Goldie. He will also be greatly missed by his 95-year-old father Victor Bird, and his siblings Valerie (Dave) Bryant and Monty (Gloria) Rayner. He was predeceased by his mother, and older brother, Gregory Bird.
Paul was a cherished husband, father, and grandfather. He also served widely and well in his faith community where he provided leadership and charitable service, especially to the Spanish speaking congregations whom he loved. Paul was ever-present anytime a need arose, rendering that love and support with his smile. He would often go out of his way to help others, even strangers. Paul’s infectious humour was enjoyed by all and he loved making everyone laugh. He instantly made all around him comfortable and welcomed.
A fabulous leader in the automotive industry, he was passionate and dedicated to his work. Other than his family, Paul’s greatest passion was motorcycles. He thoroughly enjoyed many motorcycle rides and trips with his family and friends. Along with us, colleagues, neighbours, and friends will mourn this loyal and honourable man.
