Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Henrietta Currie (nee Kouri) on December 2, 2020 after 91 wonderful years. She is predeceased by her husband Byron; and will be missed by her children Grant (Luisa), Janet (Brent), and Jill (Paul); her grandchildren Alexandra, Danielle, Taylor, Brooke, Emily and Riley; as well as her many nieces and nephews.
Patricia was born on March 17, 1929 in Ponteix, SK, where she grew up surrounded by love, family and her eight beloved siblings who all predeceased her. She was a graduate of Saint Paul’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1951. Patricia married Dr. Byron Currie in 1955 and they celebrated 52 years together.
Patricia loved to entertain and was happiest when her home was filled with family and friends. Patricia was a gifted singer, an avid card player and a gracious host. She had a deep sense of humor and loved to make her children and grandchildren laugh with her animated stories. Patricia was also a proud nurse; she was passionate, meticulous and an advocate for her patient’s care. She shared this passion and knowledge with her students as a teacher of nursing. Above all, Pat always fought for what she believed in.
A private Funeral Service for Patricia will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 11:00am at Holy Cross Anglican Church and will be live streamed through a link available below. Our family would like to thank Julieta, Liza, Mila M., Shirley and Mila L. for their loving care of Mom all these years. Grandma Pat, you will be missed but never forgotten.
