Mrs. Olive Allison
Olive May Allison, age 97 years, passed away suddenly at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Saturday, February 22nd, 2020. Olive was a resident of Chatham, born on October 8th, 1922. Beloved daughter of the late Harry Sanderson and the former Harriett Martin. Loving wife of the late John Thomas Allison (1981). Predeceased by two infant sons Harry John and Thomas and by a loving daughter Jane (Rodger) Kemsley (2005). Survived by three loving daughters: Margaret (Ted) Dewaele of Chatham, Linda (Doug) McNally of Chatham, and Susan (Daryl) Dawson of Blenheim. Also survived by loving son-in-law Rodger Kemsley (fiancé Mary Deveaux). Forever loved by her grandchildren: Eric (Sharmila) Dewaele of Dubai, UAE and Janel Dewaele of Chatham; Todd (Rosana) Kemsley of Belle River and Jenny (Wayne) Tellier of Tecumseh; Kelly McNally (fiancé Nancy Fraser) of Chatham, Nathan McNally (Megan Trudgeon) of Morpeth and Shane McNally of Chatham; Jeff Dawson of Toronto. Great-Grandma to three adored great-grandchildren: Sean McNally, Alysia and Maya Kemsley. Predeceased by sisters Mazie Hamilton and June Puddicomb. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Our Mother was a fun-loving person with a great sense of humour. She loved to laugh and had a positive outlook on life. Mom was a long-time member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church; an original member of the ACW and a past president. She also enjoyed being a “pie lady” with the ACW for numerous years. Family and friends are invited to the Alexander & Houle Funeral Home, 245 Wellington West, Chatham, 519-352-2710, on Wednesday, February 26th, 2020 with visiting from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. The funeral service will follow at 10:30 am with Rev. Deacon Elaine Wilcox officiating. Interment Arnold Cemetery, Chatham. Friends planning an expression of remembrance are asked to consider Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation and Holy Trinity Anglican Church. The family would like to thank Dr. Jason Denys for his many years of excellent care and thank the Grand Retirement Residence for the wonderful care she received the past four years.
