Obituary
Norma passed away peacefully with family by her side on December 28, 2019 at the age of 91 years.
She was much beloved as a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Norma was pre-deceased by Alan (Dick), her husband of 56 years. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Donna (George), Susan (Tony), Ed (Wendy) and Ellen (David); five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Norma loved the Rocky Mountains and spent many happy days hiking and camping with family and friends. She was a woman of many talents – a fantastic homemaker, skilled seamstress, expert gardener and was known for her legendary pies. Norma had an eye for design and artistry, loved to travel, and enjoyed staying current on events and issues. Known for her sense of style and elegance, she was a lady in every sense of the word. Proud to describe herself as a « tough old prairie chicken », Norma epitomized strength and tenacity. Her greatest legacy is a loving family who will miss her deeply and hold her forever in their hearts.
Special thanks to staff of Unit 83 at the Rockyview Hospital for their compassionate care, and to the staff of the Lodge at Valley Ridge who cared for her lovingly.
