Memorial Donation
It is with great sadness and heavy heart that the family of the late Nora Smith announces her passing on January 13th 2020. Nora was born March 15,1964 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She leaves behind a world of family and friends that love her and will always miss her.
Nora had a presence that brightened a room like the sun. She was everybody’s confidante and spent all her time making the world a better place. Nora was heavily involved in numerous charities and loved animals. Nora fostered animals and volunteered for the SPCA and Bide-a-While. She ran the Angel Tree Christmas gift drive for WCB, which accumulated hundreds of gifts each year to be donated to children. She was one of the organizers of the Needy Family Program for the Westphal – Cole Harbour Firefighters Association where she was a member; This program provides Christmas presents, food and necessities to families in need at Christmas time. She assisted with the WCHFFA Don Crook Memorial Ladder-a-thon which has raised almost a million dollars from Muscular Dystrophy. These are but a few of the charities that Nora spent time with. More often than not you would see her Niece and Nephew, Brooklynn and Keegan with her, no matter what she was doing. For Nora the Sun and Moon rose and set on her family, especially Brooklynn and Keegan.
There will be a celebration of life on January 23 at 4:30 pm at Montes Showbar Grill 245 Waverley Rd. This is open to all those wishing to pay their respects and celebrate Nora’s life the way she would want.
