OBITUARY
REMEMBERING THE LIFE OF NOBLE DUVERNEY
Noble DuVerney was born on August 29, 1936 in the twin island of Trinidad and Tobago, to his parents Lionel and Leotta DuVerney (deceased). He was the sixth child out of eight siblings. From an early age, he lived a life that had incredible meaning. Nobel family was the center of his life which was the foundation that prepared him for his growth. Noble was an original, a good man, a man who loved deeply and was loved
Noble was married to his young sweetheart Genevieve Superville on December 27, 1959. After 60 years of marriage Genevieve on January 22, 2019 entered into the spiritual realm to be with The Lord. From the blessed union three beautiful gifts of life was given. Gillian, Andre, and Pamela
Noble professional journey started in Trinidad as a salesman for an insurance company where he worked with a mighty heart and great passion for his chosen field.
Noble migrated to Canada in 1971 with his family and loved the land it now became their home where he raised his children. He continued working in the insurance industry in Canada for many years. After his retirement, his love to live in a warmer climate and to spend his golden years with his wife was evident. He then relocated with his Genevieve to the USA in Fort Lauderdale Florida where they lived for several years before returning back to Canada.
Noble had so many qualities that were admired, he was a very religious man who kept the Faith to his Catholic teachings and his upbringing. He was a humble simple man with a great sense of humor. Noble was so comfortable wearing a short pants, a white tea shirt with a pocket to hold his cigarette, a slippers or sandals, a cap and a shades for his eyes, where he was in the ready mood to go. This was Noble DuVerney true nature. One of his favorite hobby that he enjoyed was horse racing and betting events. He also loved playing card games with his family and friends on special occasions. Going to the beach and swimming with his children and family was one of his greatest outdoor recreation for pleasure that he truly enjoyed. Yes he was a ray of sunshine with a gentle breeze shinning brightly with all who interacted with him. Noble was very proud of his cultural heritage of calypso and steel pan music. Frequent visits he made to his homeland for the carnival, in New York for Labor Day and Miami carnival and with his family in London England. His favorite food was red beans with plain white rice, no other dish could top that cuisine. During his annual trips to New York, he always had that fear of crossing over bridges, where he would stop and vacate his driver’s seat before reaching the bridge. Genevieve was his rescuing angel to drive him over to the other side of the bridge. Noble also kept his distance from going to places that were high, tall building and amusement rides were a few areas you would not find him.
Noble was a great fire that burned brightly and touched the hearts and lives of so many people. He was a man with integrity and dignity. A great protector to his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. We have learned from him that we are no higher than anyone else or lower than anyone else. Everyone matters. Noble was full of charisma, he was a happy person to be around, he told jokes which were most funny when his speech stuttered.
We will always remember him as a very compassionate person, who held many titles, of son, husband ,father, brother, uncle, and friend but most of all a child of God.
His life had a great impact on his children, grandchildren, his family was the wind beneath his wings. You are etched in every fiber of our being. Flesh of our flesh, we will feel your touch where ever we go. His gift to us is that he taught us never to give up on ourselves. You get what you give out in life. We will continue to live in your honor because we know that you loved us with all your heart. As we celebrate an extraordinary man it is with Grace and gratitude we say thank you. It is not what you leave to your children. It is what you leave in them that matters. Noble has left a legacy or us to follow, treasured moment never to forget. A great man is gone from our sight, but not from our hearts, we know that his life was great because he was good.
There is a time and purpose for everything under the heaven. A time to be born, A time to build, A time to love, A time to plant, A time to die, A time to say goodbye. Greater is our loss, but his gain to be with The Lord. How do you say goodbye to someone who have been there throughout your life. How do you say goodbye to someone you love. Noble you have run the race and you have kept the faith. On Friday June 19, 2020 he heard God’s voice, good and faithful servant. God called him home and he took His hand and his spirit was lifted up. We take comfort in knowing that Noble has entered into the Eternal Life with God. We will forever treasure the life and memories that we shared. You gave us love, strength and so much more, now rest in peace.
